First established at the old Queen Victoria Market site, Young Sang & Co. has symbolised freshness and quality for almost 50 years.

Young Sang & Co – realized the future of agriculture in field grown cropping was at a standstill and a drastic change was needed, with the ongoing advancements in Glass house technologies in Australia, the threat of losing the core importance of tasting and feeling good vegetables in Australia was at risk.
We are proud growers and marketers of field grown produce, product that is delivered to us via mother nature and given to us via nutrients from the earths soil.
As field growers we believe in the importance of this and we felt we needed to develop a system that brings the best of both worlds into play and allows us to produce sustainable grown, healthy field grown produce which looks perfect on the shelf, has long shelf life and tastes great!
This is why we created Brella Fields, Gorgeous looking, great tasting produce straight from the soil just with a little protection from Mother Nature.
The Team
Joe Palumbo - Director
Joe is a veteran of the Australian fruit and vegetable industry with almost 50 years of experience. He entered the industry as a perky 14-year-old, and has developed a unique and dynamic understanding of the industry. He has experience across the entire market chain, from retailer to marketer and more recently to grower.
Always the innovator who craves a challenge, Joe merged his retail business into his wholesale business in 1984. He went one step further a few years later, starting a growing operation in Bundaberg, Queensland in the early 1990s.
Joe’s passion for producing and supplying quality produce has allowed him to establish long-standing grower alliances, which he connects with key retailers Australia-wide.
Daniel Scavo - General Manager
Daniel has worked at Young Sang & Co alongside his father-in-law Joe since 2008 after starting his career in real estate. He is also the business development manager for United Wholesalers & Growers (UWG).
His passion for the future of the fruit and vegetable industry, coupled with his natural negotiating skills, make him a charismatic figure. As such he has developed strong relationships across the industry. His vision for the industry comes from experience as both a grower and market agent, and his ultimate goal is to help growers build successful businesses.
Josh Crow - Farming Operation Manager
Josh Crow is currently the head of our farming operation in Bundaberg, managing all farming divisions of the business, including our outdoor tomato, capsicum and zucchini crops and also our Greenhouse protected Brella Fields crops, along with managing out specialty line programs.
